Channel 4 has screened the new crime drama from production company Eagle Eye Drama, which is behind recent hit series such as The Couple Next Door, Professor T and Hotel Portofino. In the US, the series will soon be making its debut on PBS.

The six-part series stars Ella Maisy Purvis as the title character, Patience Evans and Laura Fraser as DI Bea Metcalf. Talented autistic archivist Patience enters an unpredictable world when detective Bea spots her unique crime-solving skills.

Following on from his scores for Professor T and The Couple Next Door, HANNES DE MAEYER has collaborated with RUBEN DE GHESELLE to produce a melodic and richly layered work.

"For Patience we created a score that embraces both her complex inner world and the tension of a police drama. On the one hand, we immersed ourselves into her emotional world in which she balances between her neurodiversity and a turbulent past. Strings, clarinet, vibraphone and piano give sound to her deepest emotions and thoughts. On the other hand, the music also had to keep the viewer on the edge of his seat, matching the tension and dynamics of a police drama.

The crime cases were musically supported by a fusion of synths, orchestral textures and percussion, seamlessly interweaving exploration and action into the score, making Patience's score as layered and diverse as its main character."
